We Celebrated 10 Years as a
Rotary Club in 2023!

The Rotary Club of New Farm was Chartered 4 January 2013 and the celebration was 16 February, 2013 at the Queensland Cricketers Club. Ten years on RNF celebrated its Anniversary in March 2023 with 50 Charter members, current members, District 9620 officers and ‘Friends of Rotary New Farm’.

It is amazing what we can accomplish when hearts and minds work together. See how our members and friends from diverse countries, cultures, and occupations are taking action to enhance health, empower youth, promote peace, and improve their communities.

Today we shine a light on Rotarian Bruce McNaught, our District 9620 Area Governor for the Kinross cluster and Chair of the Polio Plus Committee.

Bruce provides leadership across numerous Brisbane area clubs, including New Farm, Hamilton Inc, Nundah and more. At the same time, he leads our district’s commitment to the global fight to eradicate polio, guiding awareness and fundraising efforts.

Rotary thrives through dedicated leaders like Bruce, who help our clubs serve locally while making an impact globally. Thank you Bruce for your steadfast service and your dedication to ending polio.

Today we were pleased to welcome Rotarian Bruce McNaught, District 9620 Kinross Governor, and a special guest Malcolm, a visiting Rotarian from Cobourg in Canada.

It was a great morning of fellowship as we shared what’s ahead for our club. With our Rotary Art Show happening this Saturday and our community BBQ at Bunnings Newstead on 27 September, September is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month of events.

Rotary is about service and community. Thank you to everyone who joined us today, and a special thanks to all the Rotarians who took part.

Rotary New Farm is planning for impact.

It was great to have some of our members available today to catch up and run through our Strategic Plan for 2025–2030. Together we looked at how our club can strengthen community involvement and align with Rotary International’s direction.

Our vision is simple: Create positive change in our community.

Key areas of focus include
• Strengthening our membership and governance
• Delivering signature projects like our art show, Pride of Workmanship, and Light Up Carols
• Expanding initiatives in domestic and family violence, youth, housing, homelessness, and mental health
• Partnering with local schools, businesses, and community organisations for greater impact
• Growing awareness of Rotary through stronger digital presence and engagement

We’re excited about the direction ahead and the difference Rotary New Farm will continue to make.
